The future of public education is at stake in Wisconsin in 2014 and forward. We now have a single party control of both branches of the legislature and the executive branch of government.

Many conservatives believe that government should have no role in educating our children, however they are eager to shift state funds (state government funds from taxpayers! to the government) to fund School Vouchers for Charter Schoolsin a substantially higher percentage, and decrease funding for Public Schools throughout all levels of education in Wisconsin.  Citizens (of both parties) played a major part in establishing America's public school system in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We see our groups as continuing to play a role in defending public schools against the efforts of those who would divert funding to  so-called "voucher" systems or charter schools. Wisconsin's historically excellent public school system has been a source of pride and a drawing-card, a cornerstone factor that attracts people to choose to live in Wisconsin. Understanding what is ahead for our schools is a critical focus and needs continuous attention. Public schools with a core base curriculum allow all members of society to be exposed to the shared values that have made America great!

Thanks for caring about the future of our nation and planet which is directly linked to educational opportunities
