With thanks to Eric Ming who started this petition on SignOn.org:
Wisconsin legislators have introduced a bill (AB 54) which would prohibit clerks from opening early, late, or on weekends in order to accommodate voters trying to cast their ballots before Election Day.
This is just one more way to make it harder for the voices of regular people to be heard.
Our fight for a fair democracy is one in the same with the fight for ballot access. This is a fight to decide who has control in this country—wealthy special interests or regular people.
When big money floods elections with special interest cash and then changes the law in order to hamper our ability to cast a ballot, it allows them to completely lock us out of our democracy.
That's why I created a petition on SignOn.org to the Wisconsin House, which says:
Stop the attempts to end weekend voting and limit early voting hours. Vote "NO" on AB 54.
